How Can We Help You?
Have questions about Autoimmune Disease Warriors? Check out our FAQ's below.
Are you a doctor?
No, I’m not a doctor. I am a professional writer and this site is filled with information and articles based on research from reputable resources as well as my own personal experiences. I’ve had Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis for over 20 years, I’ve been diagnosed as having a 50/50 shot at getting Amyloidosis due to genetics, and I have many family members who have autoimmune diseases as well. The work I do for this site is to help myself, loved ones, and you heal and live long, healthy lives.
Where do you get your information from?
As you probably can tell from some of the posts, I do include information based on my own personal experiences. However, when I am writing about actual facts, I research sites like the National Library of Medicine, PubMed, or publications like the British Medical Journal. I’ve tried to reference at the end of every article where exactly the facts come from so if you have any questions about the information found on this site, you can always contact me or a member of my team to find out more.
How do I know if the information on this site will help me or a loved one?
The information you find here is not guaranteed to cure or heal you from disease; it is strictly for information only. Its main purpose is to inform you about autoimmune disease and get you to ask questions you may not have thought of before. A lot of my personal experiences documented here are from trial and error and are not intended as medical advice. No information on this site should replace that of your doctor or health care professional and you should not make any changes to your diet, medicine, or to the supplements you take without checking with them first.
What products have helped you to feel better and fight autoimmune disease?
I’ve put together a list of products and things that I love that have made a positive impact on me and my journey. I’ve listed them here for you to review. [insert link to Products I Love page] I’m consistently reviewing and adding products to the page so check back often for updates.
Are all of the recipes on your site safe for someone with an autoimmune disease?
Given that there are over 100 different types of autoimmune diseases, we cannot guarantee that the recipes on our site are safe for every single person dealing with an autoimmune disease. Not to mention that everyone has their own personal “triggers” and sensitivities, which makes it more difficult.
What we have done is try to list what ingredients, if any, may cause issues. We have also tried whenever possible to eliminate foods containing gluten and dairy, which tend to be major triggers.
Your best bet is to see a functional medicine doctor to see what foods you need to avoid and apply that knowledge to the recipes we’ve listed on the site.
